Effects of weak interactions on the Bose-Einstein condensation — •Markus Holzmann and Franck Laloë — LPS et LKB de l’ENS, 24, rue Lhomond, F-75005 Paris
We study the occurance of the Bose-Einstein transition in a dilute gas with repulsive interactions using a formalism based on Ursell operators. The lowest order correction beyond mean field theory gives rise to an increase of the critical temperature of Bose condensation in the homogeneous system (at constant density), which is in agreement with recent path integral Monte-Carlo calculations for hard spheres. Furthermore, we find for the self-consistent solution of the quasiparticle dispersion relation єk ∼ k3/2 at the transition point.
