A Cross-section Measurement of the Process e+ e− → q q ν ν and Sensitivity to Higgs Boson Production in the b b ν ν Final State in the DELPHI Experimen — •Reino Keränen1, Cornelius F. Vollmer1, and Richard Jacobsson2 — 1Universität Karlsruhe — 2CERN, PPE, CH-1211 Genf 23, Schweiz
Experimental study of the four-fermion process e+ e− → q q ν ν has become accessible with the increased center-of-mass energy above the ZZ threshold at the LEP collider at CERN. In the Standard Model, the light quark final states result mostly from production of real Z boson pairs, while additional effects of Higgs boson production are possible in the final state of beauty quarks. The measurement of the cross-sections of the q q ν ν final states (non-beauty and beauty flavours) and the sensitivity to the lightest Higgs boson are discussed.
