We have studied the influence of hydrogen on the magnetic exchange
coupling between iron layers through vanadium spacer layers in (Fe3/Vx)30 (x=11 to 16 Ml) superlattices with MOKE measurements.Without hydrogen (Fe3/Vx) show antiferromagnetic (AFM) coupling for x=12 to 14 and ferromagnetic (FM) coupling
in all others cases. With hydrogen loading the coupling can be reversibly switched from AFM to FM and vice versa as has been previously found with polarized neutron reflectivity
measurementsa. We have extended these measurements and have taken
full hysteresis curves with fields up to 2000 Oe. Bilinear and biquadratic exchange coupling can be recognized by the magnetic hysteresis loops and their magnetic coupling constants J1 and J2 can be extractedb.
