The role of roughness in the Fe/Cr interface magnetism. — •V.M. Uzdin, F.U. Hillebrecht, and E. Kisker — Institut f"ur Angewandte Physik, Universit"at D"usseldorf, Universit"atsstra"se 1, 40225 D"usseldorf
Experimental data about the Fe/Cr interface magnetism reflect the complexity of the system and its sensitivity to the interface roughness. A method for self-consistent calculation of magnetic structure taking into account stepped roughness and interdiffusion is developed on the base of the Periodic Anderson Model. It allows to calculate the magnitudes and directions of magnetic moments around arbitrary space defects near the Fe/Cr interface. Results of investigations on Fe/Cr low-dimensional structures by means different experimental methods (magnetic dichroism, spin-resolved photoemission, mossbauer spectroscopy etc.) then can be described through the weighted average of the calculated magnetic moments. It permit to derive from the experimental magnetic data conclusions about the space structure of the interface on atomic scale.
