We study statistical properties of the eigenfunctions
in the Anderson model of localisation. In the
metallic regime, these are described by the Gaussian
ensembles of random matrix theory. As disorder is
increased, incipient localisation causes
deviations from the random matrix behaviour [1,2].
We have computed wave functions in this regime
in the one-, two- and three-dimensional Anderson models at zero
and finite magnetic field, and have analysed deviations from the
predictions of random matrix theory in detail.
This allows us to compare with
analytical predictions
based on the optimal fluctuation method [1] and the
non-linear σ-model [2].
