We present experimental results of time-
and phase-resolved secondary emission from
high quality GaAs quantum wells under resonant
excitation of the heavy-hole excitons with 100 fs pulses.
Resonant Rayleigh scattering dominates the initial
part of the emission at low temperatures and
excitation densities. A single speckle of this temporally
coherent component has been analyzed by spectral
interferometry in a Mach-Zehnder scheme.
We will discuss in detail the relation between the
excitonic localization due to interface disorder and
the temporal and spectral shape of the excitonic polarization.
