Mean field calculation on an SO(5) symmetric model and its comparison with the Hubbard model and experiments — •Marc Gaston Zacher, Enrico Arrigoni, and Werner Hanke — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Würzburg, Am Hubland, 97074 Würzburg
We study an SO(5) symmetric model on a mean field level. Symmetry breaking terms are
included in order to account for the Hubbard-Gap.
The resulting gap-equations are
solved numerically both in an AF- and dSC- broken symmetry phase. The d-wave
like gap-modulation along the AF-Brillouin zone present in the solution of both phases is
compared with recent experiments on Ca2CuO2Cl2.
In addition we show Quantum-Monte-Carlo results for the Hubbard model without
t′-terms at half-filling and at a relatively high temperature where we observe
this modulation as well.
We argue that the d-wave like gap modulation shown by experiments on
the insulating parent compounds of
High-Tc cuprates can be explained in the framework of SO(5) theory.
