The semiclassical limit of the quantal propagator in phase space — •B. Schellhaaß, H. J. Korsch, and F. Keck — Universität Kaiserslautern
Starting with the semiclassical limit of the coherent state propagator, we derive an initial value representation for its position space representation. Some properties of this approximation are discussed (e.g. the influence of ordering on the classical Hamiltonian) and it is shown how a semiclassical approximation for the Husimi distribution of an eigenstate can be obtained from the energy representation. Finally, we give examples for applications and compare the results to those obtained by other commonly used propagators, e.g. Herman-Kluk.
