Time resolved polarization measurements of picosecond electron bunches — •Jörg Schuler1, Kurt Aulenbacher1, Dietrich von Harrach1, and Erwin Reichert2 — 1Institut für Kernphysik der Universität Mainz — 2Institut für Physik der Universität Mainz
The most common way for polarized electron beam production at accelerator facilities nowadays is the photoemission from semiconductor crystals. Since the response time of these photocathodes was not well known, a 100keV pulsed polarized electron source in combination with a phase analyzer was constructed at the Mainz electron accelerator MAMI (MAinzer MIkrotron). This facility now provides several possibilities of time resolved measurements of the emitted photoelectron bunches. Time resolved polarization measurements of strained layer hetero- and superlattice-structures with a bunch duration of 4ps to 5ps and a time resolution of 1ps are presented.
