Distinguishability of non-orthogonal quantum states in higher dimensional Hilbert spaces — •Aldo Delgado and Gernot Alber — Abteilung für Quantenphysik, Universität Ulm, D-89069 Ulm, Germany

It is known that two non-orthogonal qubits can be distinguished with the help of non-linear quantum maps [1]. We generalize this result to N non-orthogonal states in a N-dimensional Hilbert space and show that the iteration of these non-linear quantum maps leads to perfect distinguishability of certain sets of non-orthogonal quantum states. We illustrate our considerations in the case of three non-orthogonal quantum states in a three-dimensional Hilbert space.
