Observations of atmospheric trace gases above different latitudes — •Folkard Wittrock, Altmeyer Hans, Bruns Marco, Laue Marc, Richter Andreas, Schlieter Silvia, and Burrows John P. — Institut für Umweltphysik, Universität Bremen, Kufsteiner Str., 28359 Bremen

This study presents measurements of atmospheric trace gases by means of zenith-sky UV/visible spectroscopy. The measurement sites range from northern high latitudes (Ny-Ålesund, 79 ^∘N, 12 ^∘E) over mid-latitudes (Bremen, 53 ^∘N, 9 ^∘E) to equatorial latitudes (Kaashidhoo, 5 ^∘N, 73 ^∘E).

The poster will focus on the seasonal and latitudinal variations of the different trace gases. These data are used to validate model results.

Moreover results of off-axis measurements will be presented. This method uses scattered light close to the horizon as a second light source. The experiment improves the sensitivity for tropospheric absorbers significantly and can help in the discussion of the possible presence of BrO in the free troposphere.
