Mathematical methods for semiclassical quantum general relativity — •Oliver Winkler — Albert-Einstein-Institut
Quantum general relativity, previously known as the Ashtekar approach to quantum gravity, has developed into a sufficiently rigorous framework for a non-perturbative theory of quantum gravity. Yet, so far the emphasis has rather been on the mathematical side. To make contact with known physics at subplanckian energies, one has to construct the semiclassical limit of the theory. In our talk we will present some recently developed methods for tackling these issues.
