COMPASS readout electronics — •Igor Konorov, Lars Schmitt, and Stephan Paul — TU München, James-Franck-Straße,Physik-Department E18,85748 Garching
The COMPASS experiment at CERN is designed to read out up to 105 events per second with a peak data rate of about 3 GBytes/s and a sustained rate of about 500 MBytes/s. A general scheme of the COMPASS readout which is able to process such amount of data is presented. A close look at the design of silicon detector front-end electronics is given.
