Breakup reactions of 14Be at relativistic Energies B,G — •H. Simon — Institut für Kernphysik, Technische Universität, D-64289 Darmstadt, Germany
Breakup reactions of the two-neutron halo nuclei 14Be, 11Li and 6He were studied using secondary beams with an energy of 240 – 300 MeV/u. These isotopes were impinging on a carbon target and nuclear excitations leading to their break up were measured in complete kinematics for fragments and neutrons using the ALADIN-LAND setup at GSI.
Of particular interest are hereby different correlations of the fragments after the reaction. It can be shown that angular correlations provide information for the ground state as well as other continuum states of the intermediate unbound systems 13Be, 10Li [3] and 5He [1,2], reflecting the original configuration of the projectiles.
New results for 13,14Be will be presented, and compared with the results obtained for 11,10Li and 6,5He. The model dependence of the interpretation will be discussed as well as the influence of the reaction mechanism.
