Measurement of the medium energy proton response from ¹²⁴Sn — •J. Heyse, M. Hagemann, and E. Jacobs — Vakgroep Subatomaire en Stralingsfysica

We present data for the scattering of polarized protons on ¹²⁴Sn to search for M1-strength at low excitation energies. A polarized proton beam of 150 MeV was extracted from the AGOR cyclotron at KVI. Scattered particles were momentum analyzed by the Big-Bite Spectrometre and detected with the Eurosupernova Focal Plane Polarimeter. We have measured in the angular range from 4^∘ up to 20^∘ scattering angle and excitation energies up to 20 MeV. Both cross section data and analyzing powers are being analyzed and will be presented.
