The magnetic transmission X-ray microscopy, which relies on the X-MCD as magnetic contrast mechanism, has been used to image the magnetic domain structure of thermomagnetically recorded TbFeCo magneto/optical disks at the XM-1 beamline at the ALS/Berkeley (USA) with high resolution. The inherent element-specificity of M-TXM is addressed by images taken at the Fe and Co L2,3 edges. The obtained results will be discussed and a comparison to MFM images will be made.
