Recent development in numerical micromagnetics with applications to thin films and lateral nanostuctures — •D. Berkov1, N. Gorn1, and R. Mattheis21INNOVENT e.V., Felsbachstr. 5, D-07745 Jena, Germany — 2IPHT e.V., D-07745 Jena, Germany

We present some our recent advances in computational micromagnetics: (a) the generalization of the combined FFT-Ewald technique for the stray field evaluation using rectangular cells, (b) the improved method of the exchange energy evaluation, (c) greatly accelerated energy minimization routines and (d) realistic imitation of the polycrystalline thin film structure. Using these achievements we are able to simulate hysteresis processes in extended thin films (periodic boundary conditions) and lateral nanostructures (open boundary conditions) on areas with physical sizes up to 10 × 10 µm. Results for (i) hysteresis loops, croos-tie wall structures and domain wall motion in soft magnetic materials and (ii) remagnetization processes in single- and double-layer nanosized magnetic elements relevant for MRAM applications are shown.
