The Heusler compound Co2NbSn has earlier been reported to undergo a ferromagnetic transition below 120K and a structural transition from high-temperature-cubic to a tetragonally distorted low-temperature phase at 200 K. However, specific heat and susceptibility measurements on polycrystalline samples show that this system undergoes a first order structural and antiferromagnetic transition at 235 K. At 120-130 K a second order transition into a ferrimagnetic state has been observed.
We performed NMR experiments on this sample and will discuss the results in comparison with the proposed structural and magnetic phases.
