Random Walks on Finitely Ramified Sierpinski Carpets — •Astrid Franz, Christian Schulzky, Steffen Seeger, and Karl Heinz Hoffmann — TU Chemnitz,Institut für Physik,09131 Chemnitz
Random walks on finitely ramified Sierpinski carpets are analyzed in order to model diffusion in porous media. Different methods are used to determine the random walk dimension: efficient algorithms to simulate random walks and iterate the master equation and computing the resistance scaling factor from which the random walk dimension can be derived. The results of all three methods are compared with each other and with known results.
