Numerical treatment of disordered strongly interacting systems: from the energy barrier density to physically measurable quantities — •D. Berkov and P. Görnert — INNOVENT e.V., Felsbachstr. 5, D-07745 Jena, Germany

We have extended our recently developed numerical method for the evaluation of the energy barriers between metastable states in disordered magnetic systems with arbitrary strong interaction [1], so that now we are able to calculate free energy barriers. This extension provides a possibility to calculate various physically measurable quantities like the frequency-dependent susceptability and magnetic viscosity of such systems. Corresponding results for the dipolar glass are presented and compared both with other theoretical models and ’real’ experimental measurements performed on various fine magnetic particle systems.
