Transport properties of electrostatically coupled nanotubes — •A. Komnik1, R. Egger1,2, and H. Grabert1 — 1Fakultät für Physik, Universität Freiburg — 2Institute for Theoretical Physics, Santa Barbara, CA 93106-4030, USA
We study transport in setups of electrostatically coupled nanotubes biased by adiabatically coupled reservoirs. The electronic degrees of freedom are described in terms of the Luttinger liquid model. For crossed nanotubes in the case of pointlike contacts and weak interactions the transport phenomena are not influenced by correlations while for strong interactions we predict unusual nonlinear conductance curves with power-law exponents
characteristic for the correlated systems [1]. Similar effects, as well as Coulomb drag phenomena, arise in setups with non-local contact geometries, where two nanotubes are arranged parallel to each other and coupled only through electrostatic interaction. The influence of electron hopping between nanotubes is also treated, and the relevance of the predictions for available and future experiments is discussed.
