The compound SrNbO3.41 belongs to the perovskite-related series
Srn+1Nbn+1O3n+5 with corner-sharing NbO6 octahedra as the main building blocks of the crystal structure. The octahedral network is broken up periodically along the c axis, forming slabs which are five NbO6 octahedra wide. Along the a axis, the octahedra are connected continuously via the apical oxygen atoms in a chain-like fashion. Previous angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES) measurements on La0.1Sr0.9NbO3.39 [1] revealed one-dimensional (1D) dispersive behavior along the chain direction and strongly suggests a 1D Fermi surface. Examination with very high-resolution ARPES, however, provides indications within the electronic spectral properties that Fermi-level crossing is not fully developed, thus questioning if a Fermi liquid framework is applicable for this compound.
