The observation of static charge and spin stripes in Nd doped LSCO cuprates with LTT structure has triggered intense efforts to examine the universality of the stripe phase and its interaction with superconductivity.
Muon spin relaxation (µSR) can be used to examine the inhomogenity of the internal field distribution connected with the formation of spin stripes. We have examined series of La1.85−yNdySr.15CuO4 and La1.8−xEu.2SrxCuO4. Both systems show a change of the electronic ground state from superconducting to an inhomogeneous + magnetically ordered state in the LTT phase. We will discuss the evidence for stripe order from µSR experiments and present an electronic phase diagram for LTT structured 214 cuprates.
