The dielectronic recombination (DR) spectra of Ar-like
ions such as
Sc3+ and Ti4+ contain resonances associated with 3p53d2 2F
intermediate states
which decay very rapidly via Super-Coster-Kronig transitions. Therefore
these resonances have
large widths of up to ∼ 1.2 eV. Although they could not unambiguously
be identified in previous measurements [1],
large discrepancies between experimental and theoretical resonance
positions of up to ∼ 4 eV have been found.
Here we present new experimental results which have been taken under
greatly improved experimental conditions and which
facilitates a conclusive comparison between theory and experiment.
