Molecular gas in the lensed system Q0957+561 — •Melanie Krips1, Roberto Neri2, and Andreas Eckart1 — 1Universitaet zu Koeln — 2IRAM, Grenoble
We reanalysed a high resolution and high sensitivity interferometric data set of the lensed QSO 0957+561 at a redshift of z=1.4141 obtained with the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. The line emission in the CO (2-1) and CO (5-4) transition reveals a gas rich host galaxy (5 109 solar masses). We present new model calculations that allow us to interpret the lensed images of the system. All prominent source components can be explained by the applied lens models. A detailed comparison between model results and observations imposes constraints on both the QSO host -extended in the optical and in its CO line emission- as well as the required lens.
