We present a new classical over-the-barrier model for electron transfer between two isolated, infinitely conducting, spheres with arbitrary and different electrical charges. The sphere radii can be chosen freely from macroscopic to atomic dimensions. With both radii set to 7.2 a0 we make comparisons with recent measurements of charge-state distributions following slow non-fragmenting C60q+-C60 collisions [1]. By letting one of the sphere radii approach zero we arrive at the over-the-barrier model for electron transfer between atomic ions and (spherical) clusters (see e.g. [2]). When both radii are of the order of one atomic unit, or smaller, we reproduce the results of the corresponding, well-known, models for electron capture from atoms to highly charged atomic ions. 1mm [1] H.
