The Effect of the Nuclear Charge Distribution on the Osmium Hyperfyne Structure Parameters — •Andrei Loginov1 and Ilia Tupitsin21Vavilov State Optical Institute, 199034, St.Petersburg,Russia, e-mail: loginov@soi.spb.su — 2St.Petersburg State University, 198904, St.Petersburg, Russia

High resolution measurements of the magnetic dipole hyperfine interaction constants A were carried out recently for two osmium isotopes 187Os and 189Os and the hfs anomaly of the 5d76s levels was estimated[1]. Here we suggest the method of theoretical explanation of these results taking into account the nuclear electric charge distribution over the nuclear volume. The basic idea is rather simple. We suggest to calculate the configuration mixing contribution to the hfs parameters taking into account mixing with the configuration caused by the excitation of the inner ns-electrons. Keeping in mind osmium spectrum 5d76s levels investigated in [1] it means to take into account the following configuration mixing: ns25d76s+ns5d76s2+ns5d76sns. As the ns-electron wave functions are sensitive to the nuclear charge contribution mostly we hope that this configuration mixing contributions are different for different isotopes. The question is whether this difference is sufficient to explain the experimental results [1] as concerning the hfs anomaly. According to the present report it is not sufficient. Although the configuration mixing contribution to the hfs parameters anl proved to be very significant. [1] Go. Basar, H.-O. Behrens, G.-H. Guthohrlein. 31st EGAS Abtracts, 1999, p.171.
