A new method which includes non-spherical potentials in multiple scattering calculations is presented [1] and a critical comparison between theory and experiment for N_2 and CO:1s photoionization is shown. Especially for energies up to 50 eV above threshold, the results of the new calculations differ substantially from the conventional MS-calculations [2] and show a much better agreement with experimental data for photoelectron angular distributions from fixed-in-space molecules.
