Coherent High Harmonic EUV radiation pulses at 90 eV are cross–correlated with the fundamental light at 1.6 eV by mutual focussing into krypton gas. Ionization of the 4p valence shell in the presence of the fundamental laser field leads to a spectral broadening as well as an energetical shift of the photoelectrons detected with a time–of–flight spectrometer. A careful choice of the experimental geometry allows to trace the dynamics of this process by scanning the delay between the two pulses. The results demonstrate, that due to the short 7 fs duration of the driving laser pulse a single isolated EUV pulse of about 2 fs duration is generated, being shorter than the period of the fundamental light.
