This contribution discusses recent investigations of the photoconductivity of PVK-based photorefractive polymers. In contrast to earlier studies, the measurement range has been expanded to over 3 orders of magnitude in electric field and light intensity. The data were analyzed with respect to trap densities as function of field and temperature, using a modification of Schildkrauts model. Predictions were made concerning the field-and intensity dependent PR response and compared to the results of degenerate-four-wave-mixing experiments.
