PALS and DSC experiments were performed for studying interdiffusion in a particle-matrix system of two miscible polymers. The system was prepared by mixing and pressing powders of the two polymers. Two systems were investigated: (i) styrene-maleic anhydride-copolymer containing 24 wt-percent maleic anhydride (SMA-24, particle) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA, matrix), (ii) polyvinylchloride (PVC, particle) and poly (n-butyl methacrylate) (PnBMA, matrix). From both, PALS (the o-Ps intensity I3) and DSC experiments, the mass fraction of the interphase modified by mutual diffusion is estimated for different annealing temperatures and times.
