Using a recently constructed high-resolution electron - molecule crossed beam instrument, consisting of a hemispherical electron monochromator and a quadrupole mass spectrometer, we have studied the ionization efficiency threshold behavior of various molecules Cl2O, CH4, C3H8, CF4, CHF3, H2O, D2O, C6H6, C6D6, and clusters (Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, H2, D2, N2O). Proper analysis of these data a recently developed method yields corresponding ionization energies, which are compared with literature data where available.
