Resonant photoionization of inner shell electrons is very sensitive to the electron configuration of the outer electrons. Therefore resonant 2p–3d-photoionization is a suitable method to study electron-electron-correlations in the outer shells. Since the outer electron configuration of the system is affected by the transition from an atom to a surface-layer system resonant inner shell photoionization is used in surface science to study this transition. To reach a good interpretation and especially to separate surface and bulk from atomic effects a thorough investigation and a good understanding of the resonant atomic inner shell photoionization is needed.
High resolution photoelectron spectra taken with hemispherical electron analyzer (SCIENTA SES200) at the U49-1/PGM beamline at BESSY II are presented and compared to Hartree-Fock calculations carried out with the Cowan code [1].
