The efficient operation of cw third or even
higher order frequency conversion processes requires specific
level schemes and propagation conditions. In resonant double –
Λ four–wave mixing experiments conversion efficiencies in
the percentage range have been achieved and parametric amplification
of the up-converted field could be demonstrated [1].
Theoretical and experimental studies on different resonant
interaction schemes and possibilities for efficient vuv
generation using gas filled hollow fibres will be presented.
