Optimum control of ligand bond cleavage — •G. Krampert, N. Damrauer, C. Dietl, S.-H. Lee, P. Niklaus, and G. Gerber — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Würzburg, Am Hubland, 97074 Würzburg

We use phase-shaped femtosecond laser pulses in order to cleave certain ligand bonds in favor of others. A genetic algorithm controls a liquid crystal display (LCD) pulse shaper. The feedback signal for the algorithm are the ionic photoproducts measured in a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. We report on the optimization of the photodissoziation reactions of CH2ClBr, in particular we optimize the product ratio of CH2Cl+ vs CH2Br+. Additionally the chirp and intensity dependence of the photodissoziation reactions of CH2ClBr are investigated and compared to the results of the optimization.
