MIR-difference frequency laser spectrometer for high-resolution spectroscopy of C6H6, N2O and H2O — •Torsten Blanke, Ulrike Willer, Peter Geiser, and Wolfgang Schade — Institut für Physik und Physikalische Technologien, TU Clausthal, Leibnizstrasse 4, 38678 Clausthal-Zellerfeld, www.pe.tu-clausthal.de/AGSchade/index.html
Tunable laser radiation in the mid-infrared region (MIR) between 4.9 and 12.5 µm is generated by critical or uncritical phasematching in a AgGaS2-crystal and with laser diodes as pump sources. The setup of the spectrometer is very compact and portable. The achieved output-power is PDFG ≤ 2 µ W, the line-width is Δλline ≥ 4 MHz and the single scan-width is Δλscan ≤ 7 cm−1. Single rotational-vibrational absorption-lines of H2O at 1627 cm−1 and 1943 cm−1 or of N2O at band head at 1975 cm−1 in the lower ppm-range are probed with the high-resolution spectrometer. The selective detection of benzene (C6H6) in complexe mixtures such as gasoline-vapour is demonstrated at 1969 cm−1 and 1038 cm−1.
