A prism-DFB-laser with an active medium that consists of a PMMA-layer which is doped with Rhodamin B is pumped by a microchiplaser at a wavelength of 532 nm, a pulse duration of 550 ps and a repetition rate between 0.1 and 3.0 kHz. The DFB-laser pulses are temporally and spectrally characterized, and the stability of the thin polymer/dye layers at high repetition rates is analyzed. The shortest DFB-laser pulses have a duration of 40 ps. After 600.000 Pulses at a repetition rate of 200 Hz the intensity of the DFB-laser has decreased by a factor of 0.37 and the pulse duration has increased by a factor of 1.3. The spectral width of the pulses is <0.1 nm. The wavelength of the DFB-laser is tuned by turning the prism or by changing the temperature of the laser-active polymer/dye layer.
