A study of Tycho’s SNR at TeV Energies — •Gavin Rowell — Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik, Saupfercheckweg 1, D-69117 Heidelberg
A summary of about 65 hours of observation in a search for gamma radiation at TeV energies from Tycho’s supernova remnant (SNR) will be presented. Tycho’s SNR is the archetype type Ia, and is long-thought to be a prime candidate for study at TeV energies. Our non-detection places contraints on current models which assume that SNRs as a class are responsible for the acceleration of galactic cosmic rays.
