Parton distribution functions from nonlocal LC-operators with definite twist — •Bodo Geyer and Markus Lazar — Institut f. Theoret. Physik, Univ. Leipzig
New quark distribution functions are introduced as forward matrix elements of appropriate bilocal quark operators with well-defined geometric twist (= dimension - spin). These distribution functions of pure twist by explicitly taking into account the necessary trace terms correspond to an infinte tower of irreducible representations of the Lorentz group. Obviously, they differ from the conventional ones which are introduced by counting powers of 1/Q2. The unique relations between both kinds of distribution functions are given. The mismatch of the conventional ones with respect to pure geometric twist leads to Wandzura-Wilczek–like relations most of which are new and could be verified experimentally.
