The Kugo-Ojima Confinement Criterion and Ghost-Antighost Symmetric Gauges — •C. Fischer1, R. Alkofer1, H. Reinhardt1, and L.v. Smekal2 — 1Inst. Theor. Phys., Univ. Tübingen — 2Inst. Theor. Phys. III, Univ. Erlangen
Based on BRS-symmetry, ghost-number conservation and the global gauge symmetry of the QCD-Lagrangian, Kugo and Ojima have derived a confinement criterion for linear covariant gauges. In Landau gauge this criterion has been directly connected to the renormalization function of the ghost propagator, which has been evaluated by solving the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equations[1]. The Kugo-Ojima criterion has been shown to hold in Landau gauge. In order to investigate the criterion in a broader framework we study the Dyson-Schwinger equations in ghost-antighost symmetric gauges which generalize Landau gauge.
