A Short PLANCK Memorial in Connection With Questioning The General Validity Of The DE BROGLIE Relation For Neutrons - With The Proposal of a Cone Model for Neutron Scattering. — •Hermann M. M. KILLESREITER — Private Re-Creator D-38678 CLAUSTHAL-ZELLERFELD
Scattering is usually described in terms of wave mechanics, and in cases such as the investigation of the positions of atomic nuclei neutron diffraction turned out to be one of the powerful means.
The recent PLANCK Centennial of THE DPG requires no further appreciation, however, in course of earlier classical calculations by GAMOW theory (1928) of the cross section for head-on collitions for p-Li-reactions, there arose the fact that the DE BROGLIE relation corresponds rather to an energy parameter than to an appearent wavelength. Moreover, thermal neutrons have with DE BROGLIE wavelengths, which are about 5 orders of magni- tude larger than the scattering nuclei. Therefore, a shadow image investigation similar to that of the field emission microscope of MUELLER has been proposed for transmission studies [KILLESREITER, IOP SSPC WARWICK (1989) ANS11], as well as a Cone Model for scat- terd neutrons into and from a lattice, where conditions similar to BRAGG’s Law depend now like the equations of VON LAUE on all lattice parameters with running integers. hmmk
