Isobar Correlations in Nuclear Systems — •Tobias Frick, Steffen Kaiser, and Herbert Müther — Institut für theoretische Physik, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, 72076 Tübingen
The coupled cluster method is used to obtain two-body correlation functions in nuclear matter and finite nuclei. A full coupled channel calculation including isobar degrees of freedom was carried out. Common features and differences are investigated between different modern baryon-baryon interactions which allow for Δ(1232) excitation (the local Argonne V28, a new Bonn model with isobar couplings and a recently developped coupled quark cluster (CQC) model). The resulting NΔ and ΔΔ are analyzed and the differences are related to the underlying interaction models. While the calculations exhibit rather similar results for the partial waves with higher angular momentum, the non-localities of the Bonn and CQC interactions lead to significant differences for the l=0 channels as compared to the local approach. The CQC approach predicts rather small isobar components in the nuclear wave function, which results in a larger binding energy.
