Precise data from recent measurements of g factors for the 21+ and 41+ states of 50Cr and the 21+ state for 52Cr were well explained by large shell model calculations [1]. In particular, the puzzle of the g factor ratio of the 41+ to the 21+ state in 50Cr has been unravelled. These data were supplemented by a redetermination of the g factor of the 54Cr(21+) state. Like for the other Cr isotopes, the same technique of projectile Coulomb excitation in inverse kinematics was applied. 54Cr beams of 115 MeV were provided in its natural isotopic abundance by the ion source of the Cologne tandem accelerator. The g factor value obtained, g=0.832(56), and the B(E2) deduced from the lifetime are compared with shell model calculations within the same large configuration space as for the lighter isotopes.
