Finite and zero-frequency electrical conductivity of ferromagnet-semiconductor multilayers — •Alexander Perlov, Voicu Popescu, and Hubert Ebert — Physik. Chemie, Universität München, Butenandtstr. 5-13, 81377 München

The electronic, optical, magneto-optical and transport properties of ferromagnet-semiconductor (FM/SC) heterostructure Fe/GaAs multilayer systems have been studied by means of ab initio Density Functional Theory calculations. The dependence of the dc conductivity and magnetoresistance on the width of semiconductor layer, calculated in the Drude model (ballistic regime) is presented and discussed. Spatially resolved optical conductivity spectra (both diagonal and off-diagonal parts) which provide an information about spatial profiles of optical constants are presented as well. On the base of these data the complex Kerr rotation spectra for different FM/SC systems are calculated.
