Steady states of semi-infinite driven lattice gases — •Stefan Großkinsky and Herbert Spohn — Zentrum Mathematik (M5), Technische Universität München, D-80290 München, Germany
We study a semi-infinite driven lattice gas with the left
boundary coupled to a reservoir of constant particle density.
An exact solution is obtained by using the matrix product ansatz,
enabling us to calculate the phase diagram, density profiles, and
two-point correlation functions. We can also allow for a particle
source/sink at the boundary depending on the next-nearest boundary
sites. The model is studied with the aim of an improved
understanding of the extremal principle proposed in [1] for the
steady state selection in systems with two boundaries.
