We study the influence of random bond-dilution on the phase transition of the 3-dimensional 4-state Potts model. The pure system undergoes a strong first-order phase transition. The phase diagram is determined using large-scale Monte Carlo simulations. We present numerical evidences for the existence of a regime at strong dilution where the transition becomes continuous. We give estimates of the critical exponents in this second-order regime. In contradistinction with what has been observed for the 3-state Potts model, our estimate of the exponent ν excludes the value of the disordered Ising model universality class.
