Simulation of Polyelectrolytes in Poor Solvent — •Hans Jörg Limbach, Christian Holm, and Kurt Kremer — MPI für Polymerforschung, Ackermannweg 10, 55128 Mainz

We will present recent results of simulations of polyelectrolytes in poor solvent. Beside standart questions about e.g. polymer extensions we are mainly interested in the occurence and the properties of Pearl-Necklace structures and the influence of counter ions upon them. We investigate these systems with respect to various parameters like line charge density, solvent quality, polymer density and ionic strength. Here we will discuss for example the single chain structure factor, the distribution of counterions and finite size effects. One topic will also be the behaviour of Pearl-Necklace structures upon stretching. The presentation will be supported by some simulation videos.
