Boson Peak in Vanadyl Pyrophosphate — •Sascha Eschborn, Swantje Kuhn, and Rudolf Feile — Technische Universität Darmstadt

We present the boson peak in amorphous vanadyl pyrophosphate ((VO)₂P₂O₇) measured by Raman spectroscopy. Polarized and depolarized spectra taken at different temperature lead to the conclusion that boson peak and quasielastic scattering also observed are of a different microscopic origin.
