Self-adjusting two-dimensional area-preserving maps and Hamiltonian systems — •Jörg Kaidel — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universitätsstrasse 31, 93053 Regensburg, Germany
Recent works on the Logistic Map have shown that it adapts to the Edge of Chaos if the control parameter is coupled to the dynamical variable via a low-pass filtered feedback (PRL 84, 5991 (2000)). We apply the mechanism to two-dimensional area-preserving maps and investigate the relation to two-dimensional Hamiltonian systems.
