Systems of coupled quantum dots offer many interesting perspectives, one of them being the possibility that they might someday provide an implementation of a solid state quantum computer. With this in mind, a system of two adjacent quantum double-dots (“qubits”) lithographically defined in a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure is presented. The various capacitive interactions and coupling effects between the two qubit circuits are characterized; tests for quantum coherence are conducted.
Project funded by the Schwerpunkt Quanteninformationsverarbeitung of the DFG.
